Weather turns pleasant after light drizzle in Karachi

Cloudy weather expected over Eid holiday

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast pleasant weather, with chances of light drizzle, during the Eid holidays.

According to the Met department, the city may receive light rain Saturday and Sunday mornings. Sea breeze will bring the temperature down in the metropolis over the weekend. However, there are no chances of pre-monsoon rain over the weekend, the Met department confirmed.

 

Temperature drops after sporadic rains across country


On Friday, light drizzle was experienced in several areas including II Chundrigar Road, Nazimabad, University Road, Mosamiyat, and Gulistan-e-Jauhar. The drizzle brought the port city's temperature down a notch, a welcome relief after the intense heat experienced in the city over the last few weeks.

The minimum temperature recorded on Friday was 19°Celsius and the maximum recorded was 33.5°C. Over the weekend, the temperature is expected to remain between 33°C to 35°C with cloudy weather, said to the Met department.

It is also expected that pre-monsoon showers in the catchment areas will help improve water levesl in the two major water reservoirs of the country, namely Mangla and Tarbela dam, which have already reached the dead level.
