Weather: City welcomes light rain
Temperature falls from 41 degrees to 28 degrees Centigrade after rainfall.
LAHORE:
A moderate thunderstorm hit the city on Saturday evening, bringing a little respite from the extreme heat wave of the last week.
The temperature fell from a maximum of 41 degrees Centigrade to 28 degrees after the rain fell on Saturday, though it also raised the humidity level to 58.1 per cent. Still, it was a welcome relief for a populace suffering from temperatures as high as 46 degrees and daily power outages of up to 15 hours in some areas.
“The last three days were really difficult,” said Samanabad resident Rana Usman. “The rain has brought the temperature down so hopefully it will be cooler at night during load-shedding hours.”
Meanwhile, a labourer was killed and seven injured when a wall collapsed in DHA Phase 6 near Bedian Road.
Occasional showers are also expected on Sunday, with a maximum forecast of 38 degrees Centigrade.
