Digital Learning Innovation Centre launched at IU

A Digital Learning Innovation Centre (DLIC) worth Rs150 million has been established at Iqra University. Dr Syed Hasan Adil, who has been appointed as DLIC's first director, claimed it is the first of its kind in the country and IU has become Pakistan's only university where smart classrooms have replaced traditional ones. He elaborated that through the online portal, lectures will be available online and assignments can be submitted and marked electronically.

"Contemporary age is the age of technology. We have to compete with the developed nations, which is impossible without inculcating the latest technologies in our education system. Smart classrooms are the future of the education system and we are committed to providing our students with the best available modern technology," said Dr Qazi. He expressed the belief that education is the key to determine a nation's fate, as history makes it evident that nations who gave adequate importance to education progressed while nations who neglected education deteriorated.
