PTI spokesperson said that the parliamentary board will decide and announce candidates for other constituencies soon.

The party on Thursday closed receiving review applications from party leaders and loyalists over award of tickets in their respective constituencies.

Earlier, party workers were asked to submit appeals if they think ticket had been given out of merit.

“PTI chief will himself review all the appeals and announce the decision,” the spokesperson added.

With regards to Islamabad, all the three NA constituencies are finalised, while in Fata candidates for seven NA constituencies have been announced out of a total of eight seats.

PML-N, PTI and PPP rhyme to win Karachi

The review appeal has been filed by activists challenging decision of the party’s parliamentary board over ticket allotment to Imran Khan from NA-53.

Workers in the appeal have said that PTI leader Ilyas Meharban was declared as best candidate for upcoming general elections, according to popularity survey carried out in NA-53.

Earlier, the ticket for the NA-53 was given to Khan’s close aide Amir Mehmood Kiyani. “Upon our protest on social media, the parliamentary board revisited its decision and Kiyani was accommodated and given ticket for NA-61 (Rawalpindi). However, the parliamentary board announced to field Imran Khan instead of Ilyas Meharban from NA-53 rather than to rectify its mistake,” the appeal reads.

The appeal further states that the fact shows workers from this constituency were against the decision of fielding Imran Khan as party candidate from NA-53. Party workers have said that Imran Khan should announce to vacate this seat and the ticket should be given to Ilyas Meharban
