ISLAMABAD:
The construction of a modern regional blood centre in the federal capital will begin soon through the German government’s funding on the land provided by the local government.

In a media briefing, Safe Blood Transfusion Programme (SBTP) National Coordinator Prof Hassan Abbas Zaheer on Thursday said that this centre will serve as a blood procurement and distribution centre for the entire Islamabad ensuring quality systems to regulate all activities which will involve mobilisation and retention of voluntary and regular blood donors.

He thanked the German government in supporting this very important project and especially appreciated the role of KFW and GIZ in funding the project.
