‘Army has sacrificed greatly’

Chief minister lauds services of army in the war against terrorism and the great sacrifices of martyrs

LAHORE: Punjab Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Dr Hasan Askari has lauded the services of the army in war against terrorism and lauded the great sacrifices of the martyrs. He expressed these views during a meeting with Corp Commander Lahore Lt-Gen Amir Riaz called on him at Chief Minister’s Office on Thursday. The chief minister lauded the services of the army in war against terrorism and lauded the great sacrifices of the martyrs. Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the nation was proud of its brave armed forces adding that war against terrorism was the fight for the survival of the country. “The whole nation is united in this war. The armed forces of Pakistan have played a remarkable role against terrorism and every segment of life including the army, police and law enforcement agencies have rendered invaluable sacrifices,” he said. He said those who sacrificed their lives in this war were the brave heroes of the nation. “The reward of the sacrifices of the martyrs has been achieved in the shape of peace,” he remarked. The CM was of the view that the passion and commitment of the brave and patriotic Pakistanis were strong. He said brutal criminals could not face the unwavering commitment of the Pakistani nation. “The brave armed forces of Pakistan have written a new history of bravery in the war against terrorism and armed forces have the full capability to deal with internal and external challenges,” he said.
