Malakand and FATA reconstruction requires Rs 86.2 billion: PDMA

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Disaster Management Authority says Rs 86.2 billion are required to reconstruct the Malakand and FATA areas.
PDMA director General Shakeel Qadir Khan made the statement at a press conference in Peshawar on Sunday.
Khan said every affected family has been given Rs 400,000 to reconstruct their homes.
He said reconstruction for this year requires Rs 21 billion rupees and that he has filed an application to the federal and provincial governments in this regard.
He also said that if all the water from Attabad Lake is diverted to Tarbela, the water level of the dam would only rise by five percent.
