BAP is fighting politics of personal interest: Kakar
General secretary says it is the 21st century but people are still deprived of basic facilities
QUETTA:
The people of the province are still deprived of basic facilities, including drinking water, even in the 21st century due to the so-called nationalists’ politics of personal interest, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) general secretary says.
“In a short period of two months, BAP has grown rapidly and turned into a major political force of Balochistan, only because we have been welcoming with open arms people of all races,” Manzoor Khan Kakar said while addressing a membership drive on Monday.
Siraj Raisani’s BMM merges with BAP
Senior leadership of BAP, including Ismael Lehri, Javed Ahmed Khan and other party workers, accompanied the general secretary.
Before Kakar’s speech, PML-N senior leader Mir Zafarullah Kamrani along with hundreds of his supporters joined BAP and vowed to work for the rights of the people under the party’s manifesto.
Kakar said, “Our party is going to fight elections with elements who always compromised the people’s rights for their own personal interests. We believe in unity but nationalists always did politics of hatred.”
He said that workers of all political parties in Balochistan, including PkMAP, JUI-F, PTI, PML-N, PPP and others, were joining hands for the development of Balochistan.
Kakar said, “For 50 years we are being lured in the name of nation, religion and sects, which has increased the plight of the people of Balochistan.
BAP’s popularity annoying opponents: leaders
“In the 21st century, the downtrodden people have been living without basic facilities, including health, education and drinking water, and to end the sense of deprivation, BAP is ready to launch a movement for the rights of Balochistan.”
To a question regarding BAP’s political future, Kakar said, “We have decided to move with seat by seat adjustment with other political parties as one cannot do politics remaining isolated.
“The way we succeeded in electing six independent senators and the Senate chairman, we have opened our doors to negotiation with other parties.”
On LEAs’ sacrifices for the country, the general secretary said, “Our armed forces are fighting terrorism. The Pakistan Army and the LEAs have sacrificed more than enough lives while protecting the people of Pakistan.”
