Inexcusable behaviour: YDA condemns beating up of female doctors at Civil hospital
Demand FIR against the culprits on behalf of Civil hospital's administration be registered
KARACHI:
The Young Doctors Association's (YDA) Sindh chapter condemned an incident of verbal and physical abuse of a female doctor on duty at Unit 5 of the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital, Karachi.
In its statement issued on Monday, the association said a group of attendants forcibly entered the room of female doctors, beat and slapped them and threatened to kill a pregnant doctor.
The doctors alleged that the Civil hospital administration is silent over the incident. They said the deputy medical superintendent and head of medical unit 5 visited the ward and let the culprits get away without taking any action against them.
A delegation of YDA held a meeting with the hospital's medical superintendent and demanded action against the culprits and provision of security to the doctors on duty.

The representatives of YDA demanded an FIR against the culprits on behalf of Civil hospital's administration.
Medical Superintendent Dr Muhammad Taufiq said an unfortunate incident of a death of a patient caused a verbal and physical clash between the doctors and attendants.
He said an inquiry committee will be constituted to investigate the incident and action will be taken against the culpirits.

He said some doctors also misbehaved with the deputy medical superintendent when patients' attendants registered a complaint with him against alleged misbehaviour of the doctors.
