Islamabad airport denies reports of 'major water leakage' following rainfall
Says some sections of media also circulated old video clips of rainwater accumulating at runways of other airports

The Islamabad International Airport denied on Monday "major water leakage" at the passenger terminal building recently, saying operations remained completely normal.
"[This is in reference] to the video clips made viral on social media spreading misconceptions on the effects of heavy dust storm/rainfall on June 5, 2018 showing rainwater flooding the terminal," read the press release.
"One video made viral is of concourse area at arrival/departure lounge," the management said and added that "due to abnormal thunderstorm, rain showers entered non-conditioned meeter/greeter area."

"CAA [Civil Aviation Authority] airport management took immediate preventive measures and mobilised janitorial services staff in affected areas that were cleared within 30 minutes."
No damage to property and disruptions in airport operations occurred, it maintained.
Referring to another video showing rainwater flooding basement floor of an under construction aviation building almost 700 metres from the terminal building with "no operational significance," the airport said, "drainage process was immediately started by the contractor and further instructed by CAA management to take preventive measures for upcoming monsoon season to avoid any unpleasant situation."
