Judge Order: Strauss-Kahn release approved
The judge earlier accepted $1 million bail in cash and signed off on a $5 million insurance bond for Strauss-Kahn.
WASHINGTON:
A US judge approved the release on Friday under house arrest of Dominique Strauss-Kahn from Rikers Island jail to a temporary location in Lower Manhattan in New York, court officials said. The new arrangement was made after plans for him to be released to a plush apartment rented by his wife, Anne Sinclair, reportedly fell through following objections from residents. The judge earlier accepted $1 million bail in cash and signed off on a $5 million insurance bond for Strauss-Kahn.
