K-P to get budget after Eid

An interim budget for four months will be presented and approved soon after Eidul Fitr

PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (retired) Dost Muhammad Khan on Friday said that an interim budget for four months will be presented and approved soon after Eidul Fitr.

He stated this during a meeting to review the provincial budget on Friday.

During the meeting, it was agreed that under the Constitution, the caretaker government can present a four-month-long development and non-developmental budget, to last from July to October 2018.

The meeting unanimously agreed to present an interim budget soon after Eid. As part of this, it approved a 10 per cent increase in salaries and pensions of government servants as announced by the federal government.

The caretaker chief minister directed the concerned departments to present a summary of the schemes under the ADP for the interim budget.
