1,013 criminals arrested in Bahawalpur
Police recovers stolen property worth Rs6.9 million
BAHWALPUR:
Police arrested 1,013 criminals, including 135 wanted individuals, during the month of May. Police also recovered stolen property worth Rs6.9 million. During the month of May, 590 cases were registered in Bahawalpur. However, 20 were dismissed as they turned out to be fake, said police. During the month, 10 people were arrested for murder, 18 were arrested for street crime and 40 were arrested for possessing an illegal weapon. Police also recovered a Kalashnikov, 5 guns, 37 pistols and 180 bullets. During the crackdown against drug dealers, police arrested 79 criminals and confiscated 32 kilogrammes of hashish, 2kg of opium and 2,062 litres of liquor found in their possession. Bahawalpur DPO Mustansar Feroz said that the crackdown against criminals will continue; no one will be allowed to take the law in their own hands, he stressed.
