Engro says it doesn’t enjoy monopoly
Engro Elengy does not have a monopoly in the LNG industry

Engro Corp, while responding to a news story titled “PML-N govt stopped process for building third LNG terminal” published in The Express Tribune on June 6, has said Engro Elengy does not have a monopoly in the LNG industry as a second terminal of Pakistan GasPort Limited is currently operational at Port Qasim.
Pointing to the tariff, Engro said the tolling fee for the revised 600 million cubic feet of LNG per day is $0.4799 per mmbtu and not in the range of $0.5-0.8 per unit. Moreover, the tariff for the Engro Elengy terminal was determined at a time when there was no other LNG terminal nor was any LNG ecosystem in Pakistan. “The tariff determined for Engro Elengy takes into account cost of the 42-inch pipeline constructed to pump gas into the grid,” it said.
