Mutilation Case: SC acquits two convicts
Muhammad and Ramazan were accused of cutting Hanif’s nose, lips and genital.

A two-member bench of the Supreme Court on Friday set aside the 15 years imprisonment awarded by a sessions court to each of two people for cutting nose, lips and genitals of a man. The bench comprising Justice MA Shahid Siddiqui and Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa accepted appeals by the convicts, Faqir Muhammad and Ramazan, and ordered their release. Muhammad and Ramazan were accused of cutting Hanif’s nose, lips and genital after he entered their house allegedly with the intention of robbery. A sessions court at Dera Ghazi Khan had awarded the two men 15 years imprisonment each. Lahore High Court had upheld it.
