Balochistan's parliamentary committee releases names of interim CM nominees

Balochistan provincial assembly secretariat issues a notification on Monday, releasing the names of those nominated for the appointment of the caretaker chief minister of the province after much-awaited approval from the parliamentary committee.

The government proposed names of former environment minister Allauddin Marri and President of Balochistan Economic Forum Sardar Shoukat Popalzai for the position of the interim chief minister for Balochistan, while the opposition proposed names of former ambassador Ashraf Jehangir Qazi and former speaker Muhammad Aslam Bhootani.

Former speaker of the Balochistan Assembly Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani together with the six member parliamentary committee released the names of those nominated for the interim chief minister position after the Balochistan assembly completed its five-year term on May 31.

The parliamentary committee included Fisheries Minister Mir Sarfraz Chakar Domki, Tahir Mehmood Khan, Minister of Transport Department and Minister of Education Mir Amanullah Nottezai representing the government, while the opposition was represented by Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party's politician Agha Syed Liaqat Ali, former CM Dr Abdul Malik Baloch and Minister of Servies & General Administration Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri.notfication
