LAHORE: Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh of the Lahore High Court sought more arguments on the maintainability of a petition seeking permission to allow overseas Pakistanis to vote in the upcoming general elections. A local citizen filed the petition, challenging the process which prohibited citizens living abroad to vote. Approximately 15 million people live abroad, but are unable to vote in the general elections, he stated. The petitioner appealed to the court to direct the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to include overseas Pakistani in the electoral bank.
