LAHORE: A man was arrested for murdering a minor in the provincial capital on Monday.

The victim M*, who was kidnapped a few days ago, was found dead in a field earlier in the day.

The child, a resident of Attari Saroba, went to the market in order to buy something. When he did not return, his family members became alarmed and started to search the area. The child’s mother also lodged a complaint with the police, after which an FIR was registered.

Police collected CCTV footage from the vicinity and after analysing the clips, spotted the accused Ali Hassan.

The accused, a close relative of the boy, told police that he strangled the child over a family dispute. Further investigations are underway.

Meanwhile, a mother of four was allegedly murdered by her in-laws in Raiwind City on Monday.

According to a complaint registered by the victim’s mother, Sumera Abdul Majeed married Imran approximately four years ago. However, the union was a tumultuous one as Majeed’s in-laws would often fight with her. The husband would also torture her, the complaint stated.

On the day of the incident, Majeed’s parents were informed of her passing. When they reached her house, they discovered injury marks on her neck, it added.

Upon receiving this information, police reached the scene and transferred the deceased’s body to the morgue for an autopsy. Police also collected forensic evidence from the crime scene and recorded eye-witness statements.

A case has been registered and police are investigating the matter further.
