LONDON:

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken out against the use of social networking website Twitter, also hinting that his players could be banned from using it. Rio Ferdinand, one of the most prolific users of Twitter, has been successful in attracting nearly a million followers.

United striker Wayne Rooney also has a vast following with scores of fans closely observing his life. “We as a club are looking at it because there can be issues attached to it, and we don’t want that,” said Ferguson while adding that anyone with a high profile needs to act with caution. “It is responsibility. They are responsible for their actions,” added the United manager.
