Demand: ICCI against increasing oil prices
ICCI officials said that increase in prices of high speed diesel (HSD) and petrol is not justified
ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) urged the government to refrain from raising oil prices as it would enhance the cost of production and affect exports adversely. ICCI officials said that increase in prices of high speed diesel (HSD) and petrol is not justified, especially at a time when the business class was facing many challenges. They expressed worry that any hike in prices of petroleum products would dent the economy as a result of fall in exports. ICCI President Sheikh Amir Waheed demanded the government to curb the numerous taxes it has imposed on petroleum products.
