Agreement: Pakistan, World Bank sign $400m deals

The Punjab Cities Programme aims at strengthening performance of urban local governments

ISLAMABAD:
The Economic Affairs Division (EAD) signed two financing agreements worth $400 million with the World Bank on Tuesday to finance two projects including Punjab Cities Programme ($200 million) and Punjab Green Development Programme ($200 million). EAD Secretary Syed Ghazanfar Abbas Jilani signed the agreements on behalf of the government of Pakistan while World Bank Country Director Patchamuthu Illangovan signed them on behalf of the World Bank. The Punjab Cities Programme is aimed at strengthening the performance of participating urban local governments in urban management and service delivery.
