No development project left behind, claims Bizenjo

Says all MPAs will be provided blue passports

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has not stopped any development project in the province, instead “we have resumed work on even those projects which had been shut down for no reason”, the provincial leader says.

“Development work under the Sariab package will continue,” said Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, while addressing the last session of the current Balochistan Assembly. The session will end on Thursday (tomorrow).



He tried his best to subdue the matter in which Pakhtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) MPAs used abusive language against a female MPA Shahida Rauf on the floor of the assembly, by saying that the assembly is known for making laws for the benefit of the people.

However, this is also a well-known fact that the PkMAP MPAs vented their anger at the MPA for not taking them on board during allocation of funds for development projects in the budget.

Even after the incident, it was Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs Sarfraz Bugti who demanded an apology from the PkMAP MPAs for their misbehaviour and not Bizenjo.



The Balochistan CM said, “We are sitting in a respectable house known for making legislations for the betterment of the people of Balochistan. Elected members come here after winning the hearts and trust of the people of the constituencies.”

Bizenjo was elected an MPA from Awaran district with a meagre 500 votes in 2013 elections when militancy was on the rise.

About government’s achievement, Bizenjo said, “Funds have been allocated for Cancer and Kidney Hospitals … we have issued health cards to provide better healthcare to the poor people.”



On resolving traffic problems in Quetta, Bizenjo said, “We have approved new parking plazas while new signals will be installed across the city to control the traffic flow for which PC1 has been prepared.

“The pending Quetta Development Project has been resumed after our government eliminated flaws from the project which is mandatory for the people of Quetta. Many streets with double parking have been turned into single parking areas to avoid traffic jams.”

Regarding blue passports for MPAs, Bizenjo said, “Around the world elected members have the privilege to possess blue passports.

“In the next cabinet meeting, we are going to approve blue passports for MPAs because having a blue passport is not a big deal as elected members must be provided with all perks and privileges according to the law.”

On the laptop scheme, Bizenjo said, “We have allocated Rs5 million for the government’s laptop scheme. Laptops will be distributed in all the districts of Balochistan. Those institutes which did not receive laptops will get them very soon.”
