QUETTA:
Provincial Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has urged the people to unite against terrorism, saying hostile agencies are seeking to weaken Pakistan by fuelling terrorism in Balochistan.

The chief minister stated this while addressing a ceremony held at the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) to celebrate the 20th Youm-e-Takbeer on Monday.

Special prayers were offered for the progress and prosperity of the country, supremacy of the Constitution, prosperity of the nation and eradication of terrorism.

Bizenjo said, “Despite international pressure and threats, Pakistan tested its nuclear capabilities back in 1998 and showed its power to the world. As the world is taking interest in Balochistan due to its geopolitical importance, enemies are trying to destabilise Pakistan by stoking terrorism in Balochistan, but their vicious ambitions will be thwarted by the people’s unity.”

The Balochistan CM further said, “Ethnic hatred has divided our people. We want to put an end to nationalist thinking in Balochistan. As general elections have been announced, various slogans are being chanted to lure people, but we have to oust these elements through ballot.”

Yaum-e-Takbeer: PM asks nation to unite for economic glory

On the allocation of lavish amount for education in the provincial budget for fiscal year 2018-19, Bizenjo said, “For the first time in the history of Balochistan, we have allocated 25 per cent of the annual budget for education and through Chief Minister Programme we are going to build a better infrastructure in our government schools with hiring qualified and experienced teachers.”

He advised the students not to indulge in nationalism and ethnic violence. “Whether Baloch, Pashtun or any other cast living in the province, we all have to work hard for the prosperity of Balochistan,” he said. “As Muslims and Pakistanis, we have to lead our country to a better future rather than creating an environment filled with hatred for one another.”

On the occasion, Quetta Deputy Mayor Muhammad Younus Baloch said the day (May 28) has proved a milestone in the history of the Islamic world.

He said Pakistan became the first nuclear power of Islamic and 7th world power under the leadership of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who stood firmly in the face of international pressures and lucrative offers of aid to abandon the plan to conduct the tests.
