Olympics: 2018 candidates make IOC pitch

Pyeongchang, regarded as favourites, answered on its traditional low snow levels and its unstable weather.

LAUSANNE:
Pyeongchang, Munich and Annecy, the three rivals bidding to host the 2018 Winter Olympics, made their pitches to members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). All three face another grilling when each potential host will meet separately with the IOC members with the decision on the winning bid to be made at the IOC session in Durban on July 6. Pyeongchang, regarded as favourites, answered on its traditional low snow levels and its unstable weather, Munich was pressed for guarantees on its support from Garmisch-Partenkirchen while Annecy, with four Olympic villages, needed to reassure delegates on travel times for the event.
