ISLAMABAD:
Residents of federal capital on Sunday demanded that the authorities take strict action against the open sale of reused and leftover food items in several markets during the holy month of Ramazan. Concerned citizens state that consumption of outdated food may lead to severe medical complications.

PFA seals 23 food outlets

They stated that the administration’s limited operations in some markets reported several such illegal and unethical practices in sectors including G-6, G-7, G-8, G-13, G-10, G-11, F-11 and I-10, allowing them to put stale food items up for sale, regardless of the possible health hazards.

Moreover, citizens’ complaints have stated that there was no check and balance on these items; therefore, vendors have been allowed to make a profit off them.
