Balochistan governor fears US raid in Quetta

QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Magsi claimed that if the Taliban Shura is present in Quetta, then no one can stop America from conducting another Abbottabad-like attack.

Addressing the fourth convocation of Sardar Bahadur Khan University in Quetta, Magsi said if the Shura exists in the city, then the government should take appropriate measures to deal with it. Magsi expressed fears of another unilateral operation by the US in Pakistan.

The Balochistan governor's comments come after recent media reports citing Mullah Omar's presence in Balochistan.

Earlier this month, the acting Inspector-General of Police Balochistan Ghalib Bandisha ruled out the existence of the Quetta Shura in the provincial capital and said the media should investigate before publishing such reports.

Imran | 13 years ago | Reply Governor Magsi is one of the frank voices in the province who unambiguously mentions what's the truth. Why does his frankness draw criticism of the guilty critics?
Mir Chakar Khan | 13 years ago | Reply Get rid of the Shura. We did not ask them to be there. The Punjabi establishment gave them shelter there. Balochistan should not pay for the Army's mistakes.
