Crackdown launched against violators of price control list

Quetta Deputy Commissioner Captain (retd) Farrukh Atique along with his team on Thursday launched a crackdown in various areas of Quetta and arrested 17 shopkeepers for violating the government price control list.
The deputy commissioner flanked by Assistant Commissioner Saniya Safi and other district administrators visited Samungli Road, Zarghoonabad, Western Bypass, Brewery Road and Alamdar Road and arrested 17 shopkeepers selling expired edibles and violating government’s price control list.
Sans supplies, Ramazan bazaars pop up
At least six shops were completely sealed in the crackdown while shopkeepers were fined Rs185,000.
DC Atique said, “The district administration will not allow anyone to violate government’s allocated price control list during the holy month of Ramazan.”
He urged the shopkeepers to ensure quality of edibles and selling them according to the price list provided by the provincial government.
He also urged the citizens to complain against those shopkeepers who are found violating government’s allocated price and selling edibles on high prices.
“Our crackdown against all shopkeepers will continue to provide relief to the citizens of Quetta,” the Quetta DC added.
