Deadly argument: Man killed over parking dispute
Officials say this is the third murder reported from the same area within two days
ISLAMABAD:
A motorist was gunned down on Thursday, allegedly by a shopkeeper over a parking dispute, near the Khanna Pul.
Sadiqbad police officials said that 35-year-old Altaf Hussain — a resident of Kotha Kalan neighbourhood of the garrison city of Rawalpindi — had stopped at a mosque to offer his afternoon, Asr prayers, and parked his car near the mosque.
However, a shopkeeper objected to the car being parked in front of his store. The dispute soon descended into an altercation and ended with Hussain being allegedly shot by the shopkeeper.
Rescue officials said that when they reached the spot, the victim was already dead. This is the third homicide case reported from the same area in less than 48 hours.
