Alleged wife killer, 15 other suspects arrested

ISLAMABAD:
Police have arrested a man for allegedly killing his wife. Separately, police also arrested 15 other suspects besides recovering 670 grammes hashish, 380 gram heroin and weapons from them, a police spokesperson said.
According to police, Muhammad Ramzan allegedly gave tranquilisers to his wife and later hanged her to make the crime look like a suicide case.
However, police suspected foul play and after investigation arrested Ramzan, a resident of Dhok Maliar Purani Abadi in Noon police station remits.
Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector Mian Khan from Aabpara police station arrested Waqar for possessing 150 grammes of hashish while Sub-Inspector Talib Hussain nabbed Suneel Yousaf for having a similar amount of the staple drug.
Inspector Saifullah from Bhara Kau police station arrested Arshad and recovered a 12 gauge repeater shotgun from him, while sub-inspectors Muhammad Nawaz and Alamgir from Golra police held Bushra and Nazeeran for possessing a total of 380 grammes of hashish.
Sub-Inspector Khizer Hyat from Shalimar police station arrested Shahroom for possessing 240 grammes hashish while Sub-Inspector Zahid Akhter and Khizer Hyat arrested Usman Khan and Altaf for decanting gas in cylinders illegally.
Inspector Gulzar Ahmed from Ramana police station nabbed Umair Hussain and recovered 130 grammes hashish from him while ASI Shahid Muneer from Khana police arrested Babar Ali for having 30 bore pistol and also Rehmat allegedly involved in a theft case.
ASI Nadeem Tahir from Koral police station arrested Munawar for selling petroleum products illegally while ASI Azkar Hussain nabbed Fakhar Alam for having 30 bore pistol. ASI Shabir Ahmed from Loi Bher police station nabbed Munawar for selling petroleum products without permission.
Moreover, a total of 42 professional beggars were also held and legal action has been taken against them. SSP Islamabad Najeebur-Rehman Bugvi has appreciated this overall performance and directed cash prizes and commendation certificates for those showing good performance. He has directed for effective checking at entry and exit points of the city and also around worship places.
It is the prime responsibility of police to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens and this task would be achieved through hard work and commitment, the SSP maintained.
