The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday issued a draft of the polling scheme for the upcoming general polls.

The draft outlines constituency-wise details of polling stations including the number of polling booths and voters assigned to each station.

ECP recommends July 25-27 dates for general elections

Polling schemes for the federal capital, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) can be found here.

As per the polling scheme announced by the ECP, as many as 86,436 polling stations will be set up for the elections, including 48,667 in Punjab and 18,647 in Sindh. In Fata and K-P, 14,655 polling stations will be established and 4,467 in Balochistan.

Earlier this week, the commission recommended holding upcoming general elections between July 25 and July 27 under Section 57 (1) of the Elections Action Act 2017 in a summary forwarded to President Mamnoon Hussain.

The incumbent government will complete its term on May 31.
