ISLAMABAD:
As the deadlock persists between the prime minister and the leader of opposition in the National Assembly on who will be the caretaker prime minister, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) calls for picking any of its three candidates to serve on the coveted post.

A meeting of the PTI bigwigs was presided over by party Chairman Imran Khan at Banigala on Tuesday.

Bureaucracy braced for major shake-up

A statement issued after the meeting said that caretaker PM should be appointed from any of the three PTI nominees – former chief justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, former governor State Bank of Pakistan Dr Ishrat Hussain and Abdul Razak Dawood, an industrialist who served as federal minister during the Musharraf era.

The PTI huddle reviewed its 100-day agenda after coming into power and discussed measures to achieve the targets. The meeting also discussed the formation of a parliamentary board to award tickets for general elections. It fixed May 31 as deadline for receiving applications for seats reserved for women and minorities.
