MULTAN: A 65-bed neonatology ward was inaugurated in Nishtar Hospital Multan on Tuesday.

Commissioner Multan Division Bilal Ahmed Butt visited the newly constructed ward with Nishtar Medical University Vice Chancellor Prof Ahmed Ijaz Masood.

Addressing the inaugurating ceremony, Butt appreciated VC Prof Masood for improving the condition of the emergency ward. He said it was praiseworthy that chillers had been installed on each floor of the emergency ward and broken beds were replaced with new ones.

‘PC-1 for Nishtar Hospital II being finalised’

Vice Chancellor Prof Ijaz Masood briefed the commissioner about the working of the new ward. He said the number of beds was sufficient to manage patients and one bed would be allocated to one patient only. All floors of the emergency ward have been made functional to avoid crowd and panic on the ground floor, he added.

Butt also visited a warehouse near Rafida Hall for which a PC-1 has been sent to the health department for approval. The warehouse would benefit all the teaching hospitals of Multan including Children Hospital Multan and Multan Institute of Cardiology as none of them have their own warehouses, he added.

Multan commissioner asked the drug testing lab director to immediately send a report on pending medicine so that the deficiency could be controlled.
