This year's festival was dedicated to SC verdict regarding referring to the community as 'Masihi' not 'Essai'

The Christian community celebrated Pentecost Sunday with religious fervour across Pakistan. Churches were decorated with seasonal fruits and vegetables to thank God for his blessings throughout the country.
According to the Christians faith, the first Sunday after 50 days of Easter is celebrated as Pentecost. The central ceremony was held at the Cathedral Church in Lahore, where Dean of Cathedral Church Priest Shahid Mairaj conducted the prayers.

Priest Mairaj dedicated this year’s festivities to the Supreme Court’s verdict, in which the chief justice ordered that the Christian community in Pakistan must be called and written as “Masihi” instead of “Essai”.
The community prayed for the development, peace and prosperity of the country.
