Unhygienic condition: PFA seals chicken shop, utility store

Official says that the store was allegedly involved in selling rotten meat

RAWALPINDI: As the faithful marked the first day of Ramazan, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Thursday launched a crackdown against profiteers and those involved in selling substandard and unhygienic food items in the Rawalpindi Division. According to a spokesperson for the authority, their team raided and sealed Rehman Chicken Shop. The official said that the store was allegedly involved in selling rotten meat. In another raid, the PFA team raided and sealed a utility store on Banni road for not meeting the cleanliness requirements, a spokesperson said. Meanwhile, inspectors of the authority also visited different food outlets located in Attock, Jhelum, and Chakwal and imposed fines worth Rs88,500 after finding unhygienic conditions.
