The accused were identified as Khalid Hussain alias Mamu and Naeem.
Their arrests were disclosed during a press conference held by Liaquatabad Town SP Naveed Khawaja on Wednesday.
The arrested people were accused of killing over half a dozen people, including the murders of Rangers deputy superintendent Mehmoodul Hassan, head constable Murad and others.
Police officials also claimed to have seized two hand grenades, one repeater gun, four TT pistols and one 9mm pistol. The culprits are paid killers and belong to a group of around a dozen members, said SP Khawaja. A case was registered and more raids are taking place, he added.
Four ‘ST men’ arrested
The Soldier Bazaar police arrested four men believed to be affiliated with Sunni Tehreek and seized arms from them, on Wednesday.
Jamshed Town SP Amir Farooqi told The Express Tribune that the party’s sector incharge, Jawad Qadri, and three others were passing through the Jumman Shah plot when they were told to stop.
The men allegedly misbehaved and fired in the air. The police retaliated with aerial firing and took them into custody, said SP Farooqi.
Two sub-machine guns and two TT pistols with several rounds were also seized from their possession. The officer said that the weapons’ licences were being verified. No case had been registered.
