WASHINGTON:
U.S. President Barack Obama plans to visit Central Intelligence Agency headquarters on Friday to thank intelligence officers for helping to hunt down and kill al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, the White House said on Wednesday.

U.S. Navy SEALs killed bin Laden, in a May 2 raid on his fortified compound in Pakistan, ending a long manhunt for the world's most-wanted militant.

Obama had earlier this month paid tribute to the members of the strike team in a visit to Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
