SHEIKHUPURA: A man committed suicide after killing his three children in Mananwala in Shekhupura on Tuesday, reported Express News.

The deceased, a man named Sarfaraz, is believed to have murdered his three children, 11-year-old Mohammed Hussain, eight-year-old Zainab and four-year-old Laiba with a sharp edged tool before ending his own life, said police.

Police have taken all the bodies of all four deceased into custody and have sent them for an autopsy. The cops have also involved Sarfaraz’s wife in the investigation.

Residents told police officials that Sarfaraz and his wife faced several domestic issues and would argue regularly. As a result of this, the wife left for her parent’s home, leaving the three children in the care of their father.

Frustrated with his life and the state of his household, Sarfaraz chose to end his own life and those of his children, the police added.

Earlier in March, a man in Gujrat shot and killed five family members before turning the gun on himself in an apparent case of murder-suicide.

The man, 45-year-old Mubashir, shot and killed his seven-year-old daughter Manahil Emaan, six-year-old Fatima, three-year-old Zain, six-year-old Hashir and his sister-in-law Muqaddas.

Neighbours claimed that Mubashir’s brother, Muddaser, moved to Dubai for employment purposes, leaving behind Mubashir as the caretaker for his wife and children.

The accused was reportedly twice divorced and wanted to marry for the third time. Police said the motive behind the murders would only be revealed once the investigation concludes.
