LAHORE:
The Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) will register 300 new private, government and semi-government institutions in the current year, said the authority’s chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh.

He was addressing a meeting to review the performance of the Academic Audit and Registration Wing on Monday.

Sheikh informed the meeting that currently, the registration of more than 187 institutions was in process, which would be finalised very soon. "The registration process has been made easier, simple and transparent this year after a revamp. This was done to facilitate more and more institutions which approached TEVTA for affiliations and registrations."

"This year, we have already set a target of imparting technical and vocational education to more than 40,000 students across Punjab. By making the registration process easy, this number can increase than the already set target," Sheikh said. He pointed out that TEVTA also registered around 260 institutions in which 30,000 students had been enrolled. "Besides, TEVTA has its own 400 institutions in every nook and corner of Punjab through which it is serving the youth of the largest populated province of Pakistan."

Talking about the reason for easing registration process and registering more institutions, he said that it was done to maintain the quality of syllabus, up-to-date standards of education and no compromise on the quality of teaching in every institute.
