Battery thieves among 22 arrested

The police have arrested 22 suspects from various areas of the city and recovered stolen batteries, narcotics and weapons from their possession. A police official said that following directions from SSP Islamabad Najeebur Rehman Bugvi, they had enhanced patrolling measures and that the police had succeeded in arresting 22 suspects involved in various crimes over the past 24 hours. A team headed by Shalimar Police SHO Inspector Abid Akram raided at a gambling den in Sector F-10 and nabbed nine gamblers. Moreover, cops said they had recovered stake money worth Rs28,600 and other valuables from them. Meanwhile, a police team from Bhara Kahu led by SHO Inspector Haq Nawaz Ranjah arrested four men including Zahid, Riaz, Aslam and Riaz, for stealing batteries from towers worth hundreds of thousands of rupees. Meanwhile, nine other suspects were arrested by Islamabad police for possession of narcotics and weaponry. SSP Islamabad appreciated this performance and directed for effective policing measures in the city.
