Committee expansion: Privilege, law reforms getting bigger

It would be mandatory for the all standing committees to hold at least three meetings every year.

PESHAWAR: An increase in the number of members of the Privilege and Law Reforms committees from 11 to 15 and eight to 11 respectively has been recommended to further streamline the affairs of the Committees.

The decision was taken by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Subcommittee for Privileges, Procedures, Rules and Regulations under the chairmanship of acting speaker and Committee Chairman Khusdhil Khan at Abbottabad.

The meeting was attending by MPAs Adbul Akbar Khan, Mukhtayar Ali, Israrullah Gandapur, Saqibullah Chamkani, Malik Qasim Khattak, Waqar Ahmed, Javed Abbasi, Zamin Khan and Noor Sehar. The committed deliberated on different sections of the rules of business 1988 and decided to summon all the records and officials of all departments on the directives of sub-committees if needed.
