Woman allegedly killed by husband in Karachi's Surjani Town

Mother of four shot dead for failing to return home from her parents' house

KARACHI: A mother of four children was allegedly shot dead by her husband inside her house in Surjani Town on Saturday. The incident took place in Yaro Goth within the limits of the Surjani Town police station.

The woman was identified as 35-year-old Akhtari Begum, wife of Mustafa. Her body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and later handed over to her family for the burial process after medico-legal formalities.

SHO Abbas Cheema said that the victim lived in Korangi, however, she left her home about three months ago and moved to her parent’s house in Surjani Town along with her children. The officer said that the victim’s husband shot and killed her after she refused to return to their house in Korangi. The accused later managed to escape. The police have registered a case against him and further investigation is under way.
