Loud music: Four arrested under anti-terror law
Arrests made over complaints of celebratory firing, fireworks and playing music through loudspeakers at weddings
MUZZAFARABAD:
At least four people were arrested under provisions of anti-terrorism legislation of National Action Plan (NAP), said a police official here on Friday.
“Police arrested four individuals after receiving complaints of indiscriminate celebratory firing, fireworks and playing music through loudspeakers at four different weddings,” said Police Station Sadar Station House Officer Rashid Habib Masoodi.
He said that police arrested Abdul Qayyum, Syed Noman Shah, Arif Awan and Sardar Shawaiz from Gojra Noluchhi, Pajgran, Mohri Gojra and Baila Noor Shah areas of Muzaffarabad for violating sound and amplifier law and other provisions of the NAP law.
It may be noted that the NAP was drafted out in the wake of the terrorist attack on the Army Public School Peshawar in December 2014 that aimed to fight terrorism and extremism in the country.
