Excise department impounds 113 vehicles

Campaign against unregistered vehicles and defaulters of token tax launched

SARGODHA: In an ongoing campaign against unregistered vehicles and defaulters of token tax, the Excise and Taxation (E&T) department on Friday impounded 113 vehicles and imposed fines of Rs0.8 million.

The campaign was launched under the supervision of Excise and Taxation Director Muhammad Mushtaq Afridi in which 632 vehicles were checked and also confiscated more than 100 vehicles over unavailability of complete documents.

The teams of E&T department impounded 32 vehicles in Sargodha and also challaned 58 vehicles while it checked 177 vehicles in district Khushab and also impounded 29 vehicles. Similarly the checking of 178 vehicles was done in Mianwali district and 13 vehicles were impounded while nine others were challaned.

A total 409 vehicles were checked in Bhakkar district out of which 39 vehicles were impounded and documents of 24 vehicles were possessed. E&T teams were conducting checking at various points of the division against shortage of token tax and other illegalities.
