Police manage to nab three people

ISLAMABAD: Police have arrested three people for allegedly extorting money from vehicles at the vegetable market, a police spokesperson said on Thursday. Acting on a tip off, a team from the Sabzi Mandi police station headed by Sub-Inspector Muhammad Basheer visited the market in Sector I-10 and found that some people were extorting money from drivers of inter-city buses. Police managed to nab three people. They were identified as Shehzad, Nadeem and Muneer. Police also recovered around Rs8,500 in extorted from them. The men allegedly confessed to extorting Rs150 from each vehicle after blocking roads. Further investigations are underway into the racket. Meanwhile, Sub-Inspector Amjad Hussain arrested Safeer and Atta for carrying a total of 657 grammes of heroin. ASI Shan Muhammad nabbed two thieves, Saif and Hafeez. The Industrial area police arrested three men, including Hamza, Habib and Sartaj for carrying a 30 bore pistol each. Cases have been registered against these suspects persons and further investigations are underway from them.
