Mosques continue to play social, educational role, says Malik Riaz

The Rafi Mosque was inaugurated in Bahria Town, Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz inaugurated the mosque by unveiling the plaque and cutting the ceremonial ribbon to the mosque.
“Bahria Town’s mission is to build a beautiful and secure Pakistan where mosques will play their part in creating an Islamic society. For this purpose, Bahria Town is creating such a mosque which plays its social and educational role,” Riaz said in his speech.
The mosque is located in phase eight of Bahria Town. It has capacity to house 3,000 devotees, three large air-conditioned halls including a separate hall dedicated for women. Its walls have been decorated with ornate calligraphy of religious text. It also has a library.
There is a parking which can accommodate 300 cars.
Riaz also took the occasion to announce that the world’s third largest, and Pakistan’s largest mosque, the grand mosque was in final phases of construction in Bahria Town Karachi.
