Sessions court sentenced a man to death for his involvement in a murder
FAISALABAD:
A sessions court sentenced a man to death for his involvement in a murder in Faisalabad on Wednesday. The judgment was announced by Additional Sessions Judge Chaudhry Imaan Elahi. The prosecution told the court that accused Muhammad Shams and his brother Muhammad Hassan, residents of Chak No 74-JB, had gunned down Waqas over a minor dispute in 2013. The local police registered a case against the accused and presented the challan before the court. After hearing the arguments, the judge handed down death sentence to Shams along with a fine of Rs0.5 million which would be paid to the legal heirs of the deceased. The convict will undergo an additional imprisonment of six months if he failed to pay the compensation amount. However, the judge acquitted the other co-accused giving him the benefit of doubt.
