RAWALPINDI: Three people, including two women, died when a van collided with a tree on Friday.

DSP Gujar Khan Circle Sardar Babar Mumtaz said that besides the three deceased, 15 others were injured in the accident.

Mumtaz, quoting Rescue 1122, police report and injured victims statements said a van was travelling from Rawalpindi to Gujrat with 20 people on board. However, the van driver lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a turn at Majid Morr near Gujar Khan.

Resultantly, the speeding vehicle rammed into a tree alongside the road. Three people, including two women and apparently the driver of the vehicle, sitting on the front seat, were killed in the collision.
