International arrest: Accused in former AG’s murder caught

The accused was brought back to Islamabad through a PIA flight on Monday.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have arrested the main accused in the murder of former Attorney General and Peshawar High Court (PHC) Judge Muhammad Sardar Khan from Oman.

He was brought back to Islamabad through a PIA flight on Monday. The main accused, Roohullah, had fled to Dubai via Afghanistan from where he had been arrested earlier.

After getting bail from a Dubai court, he escaped to Oman. The accused travelled to Afghanistan and went to Dubai on forged documents that were prepared by his cousin, Fazal Ahmed. Police teams were sent to various areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and other districts and raids were conducted in the jurisdictions of various police stations of K-P to locate and arrest the other suspects .

The accused has been shifted to Pakistan from Oman and is in the custody of Islamabad Police.
