The federal cabinet directed the ministry of religious affairs on Thursday to make best possible Hajj arrangements at lowest possible cost for pilgrims.
The cabinet meeting, presided over by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, was briefed about the progress in the balloting process and formulation of Hajj Policy 2018.
The cabinet directed the authorities concerned to ensure best possible arrangements at affordable prices, an official handout said.
However, the cabinet did not put any cap on Hajj expenses.
The cabinet also granted approval in principle to establishment of Pakistan Physical Therapy Council and Pakistan Allied Health Professionals and Paramedics Council.
It also directed the authorities concerned to present the draft legislations before the relevant cabinet committee.
The cabinet ratified recommendations of the Cabinet Committee for
Legislative Cases which last met on April 24, decisions taken by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet in its meetings held on April 12 and April 17; and decisions taken by the Cabinet Committee on Energy in its meeting on April 23 in Karachi.
The cabinet approved the appointment of Prof Dr Ghazala Siddiqui as the director of the Centre of Excellence in Marine Biology at the University of Karachi.
The cabinet accorded approval for appointments/repatriation at special customs, taxation and anti-smuggling courts in Lahore and Peshawar.

The cabinet authorised the minister for water resources for issuing notification for determination of tariffs by NEPRA in case of hydel power plants.
Approval was also accorded for the nomination/appointment of the Director Chairman of Pakistan-Iran Investment Company (PICL).
The minister for power also briefed the cabinet about the current domestic demand and supply situation of electricity.
