Traders urge CDA to resolve issues of furniture market
Area lacks filtration plant, street lights and public toilets
ISLAMABAD:
Business community of the capital city here on Wednesday called upon the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for focusing on resolving the key issues of business community, particularly of furniture market as due to problems the traders of the market were facing difficulties in promoting business activities.
Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Sheikh Amir Waheed said furniture market was lacking in basic facilities like footpaths, street lights, filtration plant and public toilet and stressed upon the CDA to look into these issues for resolution on priority basis.

The ICCI head stated this while administering oath to the newly elected office bearers of Traders Welfare Association, Furniture Market, Golra Road, Islamabad, said a press release. Sheikh Javed Iqbal was elected president of the Traders Welfare Association, Furniture Market, whereas Sheikh Kashif was elected as senior vice president and Raja Mujahid vice president. Waheed congratulating the newly elected office bearers and said CDA should allocate a separate place in Islamabad for furniture business.

He assured the newly elected office bearers that the chamber would fully cooperate in resolving their major problems.
Speaking at the occasion, Iqbal said furniture market was a part of Islamabad while all its traders were also in the union council of Islamabad but the market was forcefully being made part of Rawalpindi which was unjustified.

He said that due to lack of basic facilities in the market, traders were facing many problems and emphasised that CDA should resolve its problems as soon as possible.
The office bearers also thanked ICCI office bearers and other guests for joining them at oath taking ceremony. They said TWA Furniture Market would fully support ICCI in its endeavor aimed at redressing issues of business community.
